Mark Carney’s brutal message to Trump just minutes after being elected

Mark Carney, former governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, has become Canada’s new Prime Minister, succeeding Justin Trudeau at a critical time. The country is in a trade war with the U.S. after President Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian imports, later increasing it to 50%, before reversing the decision hours later.

In response to Trump’s aggressive stance, including suggesting Canada become the 51st U.S. state, Carney wasted no time firing back. In his victory speech, he denounced the tariffs as unfair and vowed to defend Canada’s economy, emphasizing that Canada will never be part of America. He condemned Trump’s actions as an attack on Canadian workers and businesses and pledged to fight back.

Carney, who won 85.9% of the vote in the Liberal Party leadership race, underscored the need for national unity in the face of these challenges, promising to guide Canada through tough days ahead.
