During Pope Francis’ funeral, Melania Trump was seen supposedly giving Donald Trump advice on what he “should” do.
Following the religious leader’s death on April 21, the funeral services for Pope Francis, the previous head of the Catholic Church, began earlier today.
World leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Prince William were among the hundreds of thousands that gathered in Vatican City’s St. Peter’s Square to pay their respects.
US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who are departing from Washington, D.C. on Friday, were also present.

Trump was seen making a specific “seven-word comment” to his wife while in Vatican City, but Melania was also seen allegedly suggesting to her husband that he should be more polite.
According to reports, during the two-hour event, participants are asked to make a “sign of peace” by turning to shake hands with their neighbors.
Lip reading expert Nicola Hickling – from Lip Reader Limited, speaking on behalf of Oddspedia – told the Express she believes Melania turned round to Trump to say, “You should go do it.”
The expert claims Melania even repeated herself before Trump’s alleged response: “Oh, alright.”
The POTUS then went on to shake hands with French President Emmanuel Macron and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Given that the US president has imposed high tariffs on nations worldwide—a trade war that Trump felt compelled to bring up in the lead-up to Francis’ funeral—it wouldn’t be shocking if Trump was hesitant to participate in the “sign of peace.”
Trump was called ‘disrespectful’ for his remarks to the media as he was departing Washington, DC, in addition to being criticized online for wearing a blue suit instead of the customary black, which is seen as a sign of respect and sadness, to the late pope’s funeral.
Prior to leaving, Trump said of Francis, “[He] loved the world, actually, and he was just a good man. I thought he was a fantastic kind of a guy.”
He continued, though, by saying that he would be able to “meet with a lot” of other foreign leaders at the funeral.
Trump told MSNBC, “It’s going to be very interesting. We’re going to meet with a lot of the foreign leaders, they want to meet.”
“Trade deals are going very well. I think Russia and Ukraine, I think they are coming along, we hope, very fragile. And Iran I think is going very well. We’ll see what happens. We’re working on plenty of things.”
A Twitter user responded, “My goodness. Please tell me Donald Trump isn’t going to try to work trade deals at Pope Francis’s funeral.”
“Disrespectful,” another added.
A third commented, “He should be shunned.”
