Susan Boyle, 58, Reveals Six-Year Dating Hiatus – And a Terrifying Date That Left Her Fearing for Her Life!
Susan Boyle has revealed that it’s been six years since she last went on a date, with the romantic rendezvous lasting just 45 minutes.
Citing her busy schedule as a primary reason for having steered clear of romance in recent years, the 58-year-old singer also revealed that when she did meet up with her potential suitor, her unsuspecting team feared she’d been kidnapped.
When asked by OK! if she ever dates, the star responded: ‘You mean go with fellas? No, youngsters may be able to do it, but I haven’t got the time. It is still nice to be asked though. I had a date in America six years ago, which lasted exactly 45 minutes.

‘I went for a massage in the spa of a hotel and met a doctor and then we went out for lunch. I didn’t tell anyone and my team thought I’d been kidnapped.
‘They were really panicking because I had a show that night. The guy was nice, but he wasn’t for me. I couldn’t be dealing with keeping up with the correspondence.’
And while there’s no suitor in her life, the Scottish songstress songstress has admitted that she’s not open to romance, admitting it’s ‘never been a priority for me’.

Last year, the singing superstar revealed that she felt like an ‘act in a freak show’ during her first audition on Britain’s Got Talent.
Susan, who finished runner-up in the 2009 series of the show, admitted she felt ‘suffocated’ when she took to the stage as people were ‘laughing at her crazy hair’ and dress sense.
She told the Irish Mirror: ‘It felt quite suffocating, almost as though I was an act in a freak show, and that hurt. It was incredibly difficult to come to terms with for a time, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives.’
‘Everyone was laughing at me; they wondered who this daft woman with the crazy hair was… and I had made a bad choice in clothes, so no-one had high expectations.’

Susan had the last laugh when she blew the judges and crowds away with her rendition of Les Misérables’ I Dreamed A Dream – becoming one of the most iconic reality show contestants ever.
Judge Amanda Holden commented on the audience’s originally cynical reaction at the time, saying Susan’s passionate performance was subsequently the ‘biggest wake-up call ever’.
Admitting she found it hard to cope with the scrutiny when her life changed overnight, the Wild Horses singer added: ‘Suddenly, everything you do is watched and picked apart.’
Susan is now a multi-million selling recording artist and worth an estimated £26million.
Her first album, released in 2009, became the UK’s best-selling debut at the time, beating Leona Lewis’s Spirit.

Despite her A-list status, the star still lives in her parents council house in her native West Lothian, Scotland.

The star earned a Golden Buzzer and made it straight through to the live finals, where she finished among the top 12.
She also returned to AGT last year to celebrate a decade since she shot to fame.
However, she was unable to return to Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions due to work commitments.
Susan is set to embark on The Ten Tour on March 1.
