Ryan Seacrest is a veteran in the entertainment world, but he’s feeling the pressure as he gets ready to replace Pat Sajak as the host of *Wheel of Fortune*.
According to sources in the US, Radar Online says he’s using different ways to calm his nerves about this big new role.
Fans know that 77-year-old Sajak is retiring after over 40 years as the show’s host. Seacrest, 49, has been picked to take his place, but stepping into such a well-known role is a huge challenge.
Even though Seacrest has had a long TV career, insiders say he still feels the weight of expectations with this iconic position.
A source close to Seacrest told Radar Online: “Ryan often takes on more than he can handle.”
“He’s really anxious right now, but he wanted to be the next Dick Clark, and that’s what he’s becoming. Still, he’s only human, and replacing Pat Sajak on *Wheel of Fortune* is a massive task.”
If anyone can do the job, it’s Seacrest. As the host of *American Idol*, he’s more than qualified, but he’s relying on several well-known techniques to help prepare himself.
The new episodes of *Wheel of Fortune* will start airing this September.
“He’s doing everything to handle the nerves before this hosting gig, including getting at least eight hours of sleep and listening to audio books about anxiety because Ryan never knows when to stop on his own,” the source added.
“He also has other tricks that help him. Simply stepping outside for some fresh air and sunlight calms him down when he’s feeling stressed.
He’ll probably have a cozy, air-conditioned trailer at the studio where he can relax.”
Seacrest shared a touching tribute to Sajak three weeks ago, praising the legendary host’s work with Vanna White, 67, and saying that Sajak had “set the standard for hosts everywhere.”
“Pat, congrats on an amazing run with *Wheel of Fortune*!
Your dedication, charm, and humor have made the show a beloved part of American TV for decades,” Seacrest wrote on Instagram.
“Your partnership with Vanna has been truly iconic, and together, you’ve created countless great memories for viewers.
You’ve set the bar for hosts everywhere.”
